What are macarons?
a meringue based dessert made from egg whites, confectioners sugar (icing sugar), almond flour, and granulated sugar.
STEP ONE:
Complete all the prep work:
- Heat your oven
- Wipe down bowls with vinegar
- Separate egg whites
- Print macaron template
- Prepare piping bag
STEP TWO:
Sift almond flour & confectioners sugar
STEP THREE:
Make meringue. Whip eggs whites and granulated sugar
STEP FOUR:
Mix meringue with almond flour & confectioners sugar.
STEP FIVE:
Dye the batter and begin to macaronage (working the batter until everything is fully incorporated)
STEP SIX:
Pipe macarons and gently tap the sheet pan to release any air bubbles. Pop bubbles with a toothpick.
STEP SEVEN:
Bake for 15-18 minutes and pipe American buttercream filling.
