- 2 ½ ounces freshly brewed espresso
- 2 ounces coffee liqueur
- 1 ½ ounces demerara sugar syrup

Demerara Sugar Syrup
Add demerara sugar and water to a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, just until all the sugar has dissolved, about 2 minutes.
Allow the mixture to cool in the saucepan.
Espresso Martini Shots
Add vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur, and demerara sugar syrup to a cocktail shaker filled partway with ice.
Shake until well-chilled and foamy, about 15 seconds. Strain into six, 2 ounce (60 ml) shot glasses.
Optionally, garnish each shot with a coffee bean.
Before consuming the espresso martini shots, be sure to remove the coffee bean garnish.
The demerara sugar syrup recipe yields ¾ ounce more syrup than the recipe requires. This will give you the flexibility to adjust the sweetness level of your shot. Once you've shaken your shots, be sure to give them a taste and add more syrup as necessary to achieve your desired sweetness level.
You can make the demerara sugar syrup up to 3 months in advance. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
