  • 2 ounces St. Germain elderflower liqueur
  • 3 - 4 fresh mint leaves plus more for garnish
  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 4 ounces chilled prosecco
  • 1 ounce chilled soda water

Instructions

  • Add St. Germain elderflower liqueur, mint leaves, and lemon wedge to a wine glass. Gently muddle to release the lemon juice.
  • Fill wine glass with ice.
  • Top with prosecco and soda water. Stir well using a bar spoon.
  • Optionally, garnish with additional mint leaves.

Notes

Optionally, substitute the lemon wedge for a lime wedge.
If you'd prefer to make this Hugo spritz without prosecco, substitute the prosecco for soda water. This version really highlights the flavor of the elderflower liqueur.
Optionally, for a stronger Hugo spritz, add in a shot (1 ounce or 30 ml) of vodka. As long as you don't mind the taste of vodka, this is a great option!
If you'd prefer a sweeter cocktail, add a dash of simple syrup.
Be sure to give your mint a gentle clap on your hand before placing it as a garnish on the Hugo spritz. This helps extract the oils so you achieve a nice aroma.
