Asian Style Green Beans
Enjoy these Asian inspired green beans - they're going to be your new favorite side dish.
- 1 lb fresh green beans trimmed
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion diced
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 3 tbsp soy sauce (coconut aminos for gluten free)
- garnish with sesame seeds and green onions
Bring 3 quarts of water to a boil in a 5 quart pot.
Heat olive oil in a skillet on medium heat.
Add onion to skillet. Sauté until onion is translucent and golden (about 5 minutes). Reduce to low heat. Add in the minced garlic and sauté for 2 minutes. Turn heat to low until the green beans are ready to be added to the skillet.
Once the pot of water is boiling, add green beans and cook for 6 minutes in the boiling water. Drain.
Add green beans into the skillet, along with red pepper flakes and soy sauce. Cook on low for an additional 2-3 minutes to combine flavors.
Serve in a bowl. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
