Equipment

  • light colored baking sheet
  • parchment paper or silicone baking mat

Ingredients

  • 8.8 ounces white chocolate bar

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place white chocolate bars on a light-colored baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes until the chocolate is golden brown and caramelized.
  • Allow chocolate to cool. Roughly, chop caramelized white chocolate and use as you desire.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature in a cool, dark place, until ready to use. Caramelized white chocolate will last for 1 - 2 months if stored correctly.

Notes

If using a dark colored baking sheet, the caramelized white chocolate will bake for 10 - 15 minutes. Watch carefully because the chocolate bakes quickly!

Here are a few ways to use caramelized white chocolate:
    • Use it as a garnish for desserts. Top a cake, mousse, or ice cream with white chocolate crumbles.
    • Substitute chocolate chips for caramelized chocolate in cookies.
    • Make a caramelized white chocolate ganache filling for macarons.
    • Bake the crumbles into muffins or brownies.
